About Us

We are Mary and Roberta, the Two Bees.  We have both had long careers in the corporate world and now we are pursuing our passion in QUILTING.  We met in a neighborhood quilt group and we soon discovered that we tend to gravitate toward the same genre of fabrics and quilts. Even after our quilt group dissolved, the two of us have continued our quilting endeavors and shared our fabric and quilt patterns with each other.

When you shop Two Bees Fabric, you will find the traditional 1800s/Civil War reproduction fabrics along with the 30's depression reproductions.  Look for the French influenced floral and toile fabrics too, which are also a favorite of ours.

Yesterday I placed an order and zoomed right through the process without leaving a note. I just wanted to thank you for your ordering/shopping process that shows purchases and a running total -- that is so handy. AND being able to order a 1/4 yard either as a fat quarter or straight wof of fabric cut is very helpful especially when I'm not totally certain I will like the fabric enough to buy more or when I'm working on a scrappy project and only need small amounts of multiple fabrics. PLUS everything was on sale. Can't ask for much more than that! Thanks again, ladies, it's a pleasure doing business with you,

I just received fabric that I ordered from your wonderful online shop last week along with a sweet note from Roberta thanking me for my patronage. I am so pleased!! I was desperate to find some Barbara Brackman prints (among others) to finish some quilt blocks for a "scrappy" quilt, that I could not locate in numerous shops here in Virginia, nor the two other online sites that I order from in Minnesota and Kentucky. I was indeed fortunate to find your website and your wonderful selection. Your site is absolutely superior to the others in terms of ability to navigate it, the clarity of the colors, and print display. I was just blown away. So glad I found you, and you can absolutely be sure that I will be ordering from you again. I will make sure that I spread the word about you two to others here in our part of the south, because not only do we love quilting just like you Texas girls, but some are really into those civil war reenactments here in Virginia. Not me, personally on the later, but there are definitely others who are!! I've seen those dresses and they take a LOT of fabric. Good luck in your business venture, and have a very Merry Christmas y'all !! Marsy

Dear Two Bees, I could barely contain my excitement at finding the Two Bees website, full of my absolute favorite type of quilting fabric. It was as exciting as when my folks and I opened some dresser drawers in my great aunt's house to find quilts hidden away that had been made years earlier. I remember my mother had to tell me to continue breathing. Ha. I have spent hours just looking through each page of fabrics. I am so thrilled that you offer fat quarter cuts on each of the fabrics. Not even our local quilt fabric shops do that. Thank you so much! I received my fabric from my first order. I say first because though I found you only a week ago, I have now placed my second order. The fabrics are gorgeous. The fabric colors on the website are very true to what the colors are here in my hands. That is very helpful in planning. I appreciated the lovely packaging and the personal note of thanks. I don't want us to lose the loveliness of a handwritten note. Thank you for your time and care. And I also want to thank you for refunding the postage that wasn't used. This is another wonderful business trait of trust that I don't want to see fade from our society. As you can read, I am so thrilled to have found you and your site. If I were there, I would just hug each of you bees!! thank you, Rhonda Brown

Dear Mary,
I have two new loves!  The first is civil war reproduction fabrics and the other is Two Bees Fabric.  I just received my first order of reproduction fabrics from your store,  and they are beautiful.  Each piece was so carefully cut and packaged.  I have quilted for years and have the past number of years always used the batiks, star quilts are my favorite.  And I guess I just never really looked at the civil war reproductions, sure happy that I did.  I also like the fact that you are in the Dallas area, I am in the Houston area,  so I receive my orders quickly and my money stays in Texas.  Win, win, for everyone.

Thanks again, I look forward ordering from you again.

Yours Truly,

Thank you so much for the lovely fabric. I am a civil war freak so I will be back! You have a phenominal selection, great prices & super fast shipping! The personal note included is also a nice touch indicating I will never be disappointed in your store!

Hello! I just wanted to email and let you know that I received my fabric (County Londonderry) and it is gorgeous! Also, thank you for packing it into the smallest shipping container possible to save on postage! That's really nice of you! I will most certainly be recommending you to all of my friends!

Sincerely! Juliana Gaul

I. received my order today and just had to write. The fabrics are beautiful! I honestly didn't expect such fast shipping. The personalized thank you note was such a nice gesture.

I am so very happy! I have found the best fabric store ever for 1800 Reproduction fabrics. You are AWESOME! I'll definitely be ordering much, much more.

Thank You,
Pam W..  Austin, TX

Good morning, Mary -- You've just returned from Market and I'm packing to head out for the Festival. It sounds like a good week all around. Absolutely no apology necessary, I understand how hard it must be to keep an online inventory current after a show. Let's substitute the black Ink Well, it was my second choice and will work just as well. If you would cancel the Somerset Shirting, we can call the order complete with the black and two reds. Thanks so much for taking the time to offer an alternative, your attention to detail when it comes to customer service in our high tech age is what makes Two Bees my first choice for online shopping. Best, Joanne

I received my order and I am delighted. The fabrics are beautiful.
I discovered your site by chance, and I'm not disappointed.
I will order other fabrics shortly.
Thank you again for your little word, it made me happy.
With all my friendship,  Dominique

Dear Two Bees,
Thanks for filling my order so quickly ! I had started to make a Civil War reproduction quilt and was going to be short on this fabric. so glad I found it on line and you had it here in just a few days.

 Sincerely,
Maryethel, Gloucester, Va

Hello to the two Miss Bees, Mary & Roberta,

I just received and unwrapped my little bundle of fabric. It is so beautiful! I am not a quilter, but found your "shop" so helpful. I am making a 1903 "Gibson Girl" shirtwaist blouse and wanted a period looking fabric to make it out of. I got the Marcus Fabrics - Party of Twelve - R33 0378 0142, an ivory ground with very fine geometric stripes. It is so perfectly what I had in mind at the beginning of my search. I love it and can't wait to start sewing! Thank you so much for carrying such lovely vintage prints. This historic clothing thing is relatively new for me, but I am guessing that I may be coming back to shop at Two Bees again sometime in the future. I will tell my friends who do quilt all about Two Bees! Thanks again! - Jennifer Capra p.s. I have to send you a photo of your fabric in the finished blouse!

Dear Two Bees,

I received my wonderful fabric package.  Thanks so much!  Just what I needed.  I'll definitely be looking at your website again.

Dear Two Bees,

I just received my recent order from you, for the Civil War fabrics.   I was most pleased!!!   I must say that I "love" getting packages from your shop!   Your presentation of merchandise always makes me feel as if I were opening a special gift!  It's such an "old fashioned" and very professional concept that you rarely see today.  I look forward to shopping with you in the future.

Thank you,
Mary Darby

Hi,

Shared your website on a quilting forum looks like 160 people read the thread and a few commented saying they are going to check out Twobeesfabric.com  Hope you got some traffic on your website...your my favorite on-line quilt shop! Have a great week!

Happy Quilting,
Paula

Mary,

The hand written thank you note that was in my order when it arrived was wonderful. You asked if I was making a patriotic quilt. The American tribute is going to be made into an apron to where over a white dress for an event that is coming up in April. When my year is over then it will go into quilts. The red star confetti will go into quilts. I’m a member of the Order of Amaranth ( A Masonic group for women). I am making lap quilts for the veterans in our organization. I have 9 done and about 30 to go. I love your fabrics and I’m sure that I will be back to get more. I will send pics when using your fabric.

Thanks again for making my d ay with a personal note.

 Hugs,

Gloria Hooker

I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened my package!

The tissue paper and ribbon were so sweet, and the hand-written
thank you note made my day!

Thank you for taking the time to express your gratitude to your customers.

I ordered fabrics from you at TWO BEES a few days ago while vacationing on Cape Cod, where I spent a week quilting by the shore............heaven.  To my surprise, my order was waiting for me when I arrived home in NY today............TWO BEES has now become my most favorite online Quilt Shop.   I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the fabrics.  I've always had a love for Civil War history and love quilting with reproduction fabrics.  Just recently I've also become a fan of 30's reproduction feedsacks, floursacks, so your shop is a perfect fit...........the packaging and note makes me feel like I was in your shop.  Thank you, thank you, and you haven't heard the last from me.............
Keep on Quilting

I have been looking at your website and it is Fabulous!!!!!  I will save it for  future shopping.
Thank you again for the great service

I want to thank you for the very fast shipping of my recent purchase of Moda Bella Solids cotton. I was delighted with the lovely way it was packed, in tissue with black and yellow ribbons. Your card, with the easy reference for quilt backing yardage, is also a nice touch.

Best of luck to you!

Hello Roberta and Mary,

Just a little note of special thanks to say the parcel arrived last week with the beautiful fabrics  I ordered - they are perfect for my project!!!

I really appreciate your prompt,  wonderful service and I will be in touch again to order from you soon.
Perhaps, you could let me know when you receive any new 1930's fabrics in store!

Until then.............thanks a bunch,
Kathryn

Dear Mary,

Thank you for the nice personal note enclosed in my first order.  I am so very impressed with your fabrics and can't believe the beautiful way they were packaged.  My first impression was "I can tell these people love fabrics".
Thank you for the meticulous care you gave my order and I can hardly wait to order again.

My wishes to both of you for a Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.

Sincerely,
Morene

Dear Folks at Two Bees!!!!  I just cannot thank you enough for the wonderful customer service that you provide!!  I have now placed two orders, and receiving the packages from you has been so much a joy!!  Thank you so much!!

I am actually a folk artist and doll maker, but I do quilt a bit for myself when I get time!!  I sell my work thru a showroom in Columbus, OH, and the buyers are always impressed with the fabrics......i.e. I use ONLY quilt shop fabrics for my dolls....no Walmart stuff here!!

I came upon your website in a Google search for some Civil War type prints, and now I am hooked!!!  I just wish I had taken advantage of the free fat quarter offer for ALL the Tuesdays!!  HA!!  The busy old brain just couldn't remember it was Tuesday!!  :)

I love your fabric, but more love the wonderful packaging and the nice hand written thank you notes.  My husband often laughs when I open a package.  He says I am more interested in the presentation than what is actually IN the package!!  Yours tops it all!! Thanks so much!!  Have a wonderful day, and I will for sure be shopping with you again!!!

Sincerely, Trudy

I just wanted to let you know I love the fabric and the wrapping. Also, the personal note. You made my day. For sure, will shop with you again. Can I make request if there is a particular fabric I need?

Sincerely.
